(More customer reviews)This is a nice take on a gladiator sandal. The thong is comfortable between the toes. The strap located across the foot keeps the feet from sliding too forward into the thong. The reptile print is done very well. I have the black. The onyx-like beadwork is adhered securely. It's sewn..not some glued on mess. The beadwork is made of faceted stones. They give a nice sheen. The insole is cushioned, with additional cushioning at the ball of the feet. The sole is a firm, but extremely flexible waterproof material. It's a comfortable sandal that moves with your feet. The closure has a velcro tab. It allows for some adjustment. It will also keep the closure strap from "curling" with long time wear. The heel is approximately one inch. This is a true med width. The sandal runs true to size in length. Amazon's price for the black is about 30. less expensive than the Anne Klein website. Both the black and silver are priced at 69.99 on the AK website. It'a a sexy, sassy, summer sandal, that be will be really attractive, worn summer dressy, or casual. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars, they aren't leather. Even though Amazon's asking price is great, AK should have made this sandal in leather for their price point. The beadwork under placket is soft and comfy next to the foot, but the thin strap running across the toes could be softer, and would be, if the sandals were leather.UPDATE: I love this gladiator style that's currently on trend. I purchased 5 pairs from various manufacturers. I wanted enough to change up, minimizing wear and tear. I'll continue wearing my gladiators when they are no longer trendy. They're flat sandals, but still sexy and attractive looking....a nice change from my Walgreen's flip flops.
I looked at so many different sandals. One thing I noticed, leather is not so easy to find, unless digging deeper into your pocketbook. I saw many sandals at this price point and higher, made of synthetic materials. Even designers that normally make leather shoes, often use synthetics in their sandals. I prefer leather.
The only company I came across, that uses mainly leather....is Nine West. Their prices are reasonable and they have many gladiators, as well as, a bunch of other "leather" styles to choose from.
